Warming up for an eSports game is equally important as warming up for any other Sports game. The principles are the same, but there are some differences in practice. If you don’t know how to warm up for a game properly, read this article.
Don’t avoid going to the gym
Despite computer games not being physically demanding, it’s important for any gamer to be in great shape in order to perform well. If you look at professional eSports players, you’ll hardly see overweighted players. It’s becoming more and more common for eSports players to work out. There is a reason behind it.
No matter what game you play, you need to be 100% focused at least 20-30 minutes. That requires a lot of energy. If you don’t work out on a regular basis, you will feel tired all the time and it is going to be hard for you to concentrate on the game.
Warm up your hands
If you want to warm up for the game properly, warming up your hands is crucial. At the end of the day, your performance depends on the speed of your hands. You need warm hands for quick reactions. There are several ways of warming up your hands. You can use hand warmer gels that many eSports players use as well. You can use those after you die in the game, or before the game.
Also, you can find ways to warm your hands literally. It’s very hard to play with cold hands. So, you can choose whether you want to rub your hands or keep them in your pockets. Anything that makes your hands warm is good. Maybe you can find some tennis balls and throw it up and then catch it. Repeat that until your hands get warm.
Warm up in the game
Finally, you need to warm up in the game. Most of the games have their own practice or warm-up mode. Just get into that mode and practice for 15-20 minutes before you get into a competitive match. You can focus on farming in LoL and Overwatch, or aiming in CS:GO, Call of Duty and other FPS games. In FIFA, you have specially designed training arena where you can warm-up for the game properly.
